Frequently asked questions
Fondazione Severino is a Third Sector organisation that promotes training, culture, and support pathways for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. We operate both inside and outside correctional facilities, through educational, artistic, social, and legal projects, with the aim of restoring dignity, voice, and opportunities to those who have embarked on a path of change. 1
Most of our activities take place in the Lazio region, in particular within the Rebibbia correctional facilities (female and male sections), in Civitavecchia, and at the Casal del Marmo Juvenile Detention Centre. On certain occasions, we also implement projects in other Italian institutions, in collaboration with local partners or as part of national programmes.
Our interventions range from vocational training to artistic workshops (ceramics, theatre, writing, photography, painting, visual arts, and creative recycling), as well as sports activities, legal counselling services, and career guidance programmes. Alongside these, we also develop academic research and cultural awareness initiatives, often in collaboration with Luiss Guido Carli University.
No. Many of our projects are also dedicated to minors and young adults subject to judicial measures, through collaborations with the Juvenile Social Service Office (USSM) and juvenile detention institutions. We also place particular focus on the condition of incarcerated women, who are often affected by multiple layers of vulnerability.
You can support Fondazione Severino by making a donation, by proposing a corporate partnership, or simply by helping us raise awareness of our projects. Every form of support contributes to expanding opportunities for education, inclusion, and rehabilitation pathways for people in contact with the justice system.
Yes. One of the distinctive features of the Foundation is its strong dialogue with universities. We maintain an ongoing collaboration with Luiss Guido Carli University for research activities, teaching, and the involvement of students in field-based projects. We believe that knowledge, education, and critical thinking are essential tools for building a more equitable and inclusive justice system.
We collaborate with Luiss Guido Carli University to involve students in hands-on activities such as counselling desks, academic tutoring, workshops, and research projects. For us, it is essential to build a bridge between the prison system and the university, in order to foster more aware citizens and professionals who are more attentive to the social value of law.
Absolutely. If you would like to organise an event, a fundraising campaign, or an initiative in support of our projects, you can contact us at info@fondazioneseverino.org
