The women’s prison of Rebibbia becomes literature

Fandango Libri has published the new book by Valerio Callieri, AS3, born from a writing workshop carried out inside the Rebibbia Germana Stefanini Women’s Prison together with our Foundation.

The work stems from the encounter between the author and the inmates of the High Security section, a path built over time through writing as a tool for listening and for giving shape to personal stories. From this shared experience comes a novel that gives voice to three incarcerated women, intertwining their lives, wounds, and attempts at reconstruction.

AS3 is not an external account of prison life, but a text that originates from within the prison itself, from the direct relationship between those who write and those who chose to tell their stories. What emerges is an intimate and complex perspective on women’s detention, where writing becomes a possible space of freedom, even within confinement.
