Canine Operator course

The course for Canine Operator is a first-level professional training programme dedicated to the study of dogs and the fundamentals of the human–animal relationship.

Canine Operator course

Project

The course took place in various penitentiary institutions in the Lazio region and was also carried out in collaboration with Rotary International, CIAC and ACSI.

The programme combined theoretical and practical training, exploring the evolution of the dog, communication, species-specific needs and behavioural dynamics. It also addressed learning principles, the human–owner relationship and the foundations of canine education and management.

The course represented an initial opportunity for orientation towards potential professional pathways in the external job market within the sector.

Goals

The project aimed to provide basic skills in the relationship with and management of dogs, promoting an understanding of animal behaviour and the acquisition of practical tools to support educational activities.

The programme also fostered responsibility, awareness and relational skills, enhancing the human–animal bond as an educational tool and an opportunity for personal growth, with potential professional outcomes also outside the penitentiary context.
