At the heart of the initiative is the desire to build effective tools to facilitate access to work for people deprived of their liberty or subject to alternative measures, raising awareness of businesses, public and noncommercial entities on the strategic role they can play in the path to reintegration.

The Foundation supports and promotes studies, research and scientific investigations on prison labor, economic and union policies on prisoners' job placement, tax and contribution regulations applicable to the companies involved, as well as the effects of penal and prison policies.

Special attention is paid to the enhancement of existing regulatory tools, such as the Smuraglia Law, and to the proposal of new technical and legislative measures that encourage the hiring of disadvantaged individuals, simplify procedures and encourage corporate social responsibility.

At the same time, training and social reintegration programs aimed at inmates, former inmates and people on alternative measures are activated, and dissemination and awareness campaigns are promoted to inform citizens, institutions and businesses about the reality of prison, the value of work as a tool for redemption, and the positive impact it can have on the entire community.

The project aims to promote prison labor as a central lever for the re-education, personal dignity and lasting reintegration of people under sentence. It aims to raise awareness of the social and civic value of inclusion in the productive and institutional world, to improve sector regulations, and to strengthen public-private dialogue to build stable and effective networks that concretely contribute to the reduction of recidivism.
