"Legalità e Merito" Project

Created to bring young people closer to the values of legality, justice and merit, the project involves hundreds of high school students and juveniles in penal measures each year through a participatory civic education program.

Luiss students, trained as ambassadors of legality, meet peers in contexts of fragility - such as Penal Institutions for Minors (IPM) or Juvenile Social Service Offices (USSM) - to initiate together a collective reflection on the issues of corruption, mafias, rights, justice and the enhancement of merit.

The path takes the form of thematic projects developed by the participants and selected according to the sensitivity and characteristics of the territories involved. The best entries are rewarded with scholarships, but all young people, regardless of the result, become part of a community that dialogues, learns and builds.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Severino Foundation, participants are also involved in activities related to prison and resocialization, strengthening the connection between school, university, justice and civil society.

The project aims to transmit the values of legality and active citizenship to young people from different backgrounds, encouraging a generational meeting between university students and young people in situations of fragility. It intends to promote awareness of rights and duties, trust in institutions and the idea that merit, commitment and knowledge are fundamental tools for building a free, just and shared future.
