Reading lab

A new program dedicated to reading and direct encounters with authors at the Rebibbia Women's Prison.

The workshop was created with the goal of building a space for dialogue and sharing through books, giving incarcerated people the opportunity to meet writers, learn about their stories, and explore the themes of their works together.

The program has already featured Giuliana Salvi, with her novel Clementina (Einaudi), Sandro Bonvissuto, with Dentro (Einaudi), and Gianni Denaro, with Armadio di famiglia. The next meeting will be with Elisa Del Mese, author of Diffidare delle cucine pulite (Bompiani).

The workshop aims to promote reading as a tool for personal and cultural growth and as an opportunity to develop dialogue, listening, and self-expression. Through direct encounters with authors, the project also seeks to build a bridge between the prison world and the wider cultural community, fostering the exchange of experiences, ideas, and perspectives. In this way, culture and reading become tools for broadening perspectives, strengthening relationships with others, and supporting pathways to inclusion and reintegration.
