The Research

The Severino Foundation promotes research activities in the area of criminal justice and resocialization, with the goal of contributing to the construction of a more equitable, effective system geared toward reducing recidivism.

The Research

Project

Through memoranda of understanding with academic partners, including Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome, the Foundation develops studies and insights geared toward reducing recidivism and improving prison policies.

A research project dedicated to the analysis and mapping of public-private cooperation models in the field of penal enforcement is underway. The study focuses on the implementation of alternative measures to detention, the construction of effective resocialization pathways and the identification of best practices to be shared with public bodies, institutions and companies nationwide.

The Foundation thus aims to strengthen the link between academia and social intervention, promoting the production of knowledge that is useful, transferable and capable of generating concrete impact.

Objectives

The research activity aims to make reflection on issues of punishment and resocialization more accessible and shared, encouraging the spread of alternative and sustainable models. It aims to investigate the role of public-private partnership, to identify concrete tools to improve the effectiveness of alternative measures to detention, and to offer practical references to institutions, practitioners and local realities.

Promoting dialogue between justice, academia and society is a prerequisite for building a more humane penal system based on accountability, knowledge and real opportunities for reintegration.
